Golden Gaits Ranch™ is what we call our little oasis. We're 3 1/2 miles NW of Wellington, CO. That puts us close to the "big city" of Fort Collins but far enough out to enjoy the country life.

Our Creator is teaching us about Himself. He is the center of the universe, not us. As we learn to follow Him, He is bringing us into His abundant life.

Thanks for visiting our web site. If you have a hankerin' to come visit us at "the ranch" please do! We love company and the opportunity to share life with you.

Tim & Laurie Bratten

Horse Heaven

One of the things we truly enjoy is our horses. We love trail riding and camping with our horses! We get to enjoy Father's handiwork and we have formed friendships with some of the most wonderful people. We ride out by ourselves and as well as ride with groups of people.
Tim also occasionally trains horses as time allows. He does it for the love of horsemanship, not for the pursuit of money (actually he has a real job that supports his horse habit).

Fruits of our Labor

Another activity that brings great satisfaction is raising our own food. Working with God's creation directly in order to supply some of our needs brings us close to our Father's provision and handiwork.

Laurie has a blog that journals some of our adventures in this area. Clicking here will take you to the blog.

The Duck Stops Here

Expanding on our adventure in raising more of our own food we considered raising chickens for eggs. However, as we did our research we were intrigued by the thought of getting ducks instead of chickens for eggs.
We decided on this course of action and bought ducklings which arrived June 8, 2011. They started laying eggs Dec 15. We now are now enjoying an abundant supply of eggs and have figured out more ways to eat eggs than we can count.
Laurie's blog also has lot of pictures and some videos on the ducks.

Last, but not least

Zadie and KK round out the critter count at the ranch. Zadie chases KK around the house whenever KK is in the mood. When it's time to quit KK let's Zadie know it.
